Espanyol has injury issues to winger Pablo Piatti, forwards Sergio Garcia and Jairo Morillas and attacking midfielder Jurado that will keep them out. Left back Aaron Caricol is also out due to suspension.

Espanyol beat their 'big brothers' Barcelona in the Copa del Rey. They did so thanks to a late goal from Oscar Molendo. The football in the build up was brilliant, good enough to beat any team, but the finish was also excellent from the young, diminutive Spaniard. Look out for him here as well as they look to ride his hot streak in this match.

Sevilla is missing center backs Simon Kjaer, Nico Pareja, and Daniel Carrico due to injuries.

Sevilla struck two late goals to overturn Atletico in Madrid on Wednesday in Copa del Rey action. Those two goals were produced in part by winger Joaquin Correa.

Espanyol may well enter this match in 14th place with 24 points, but they are unbeaten in their last four Liga matches and have played some good recent football of late. They are a full eight above the drop zone, so they are able to go out and attack. As for Sevilla, they have now slumped down into the sixth spot after a third straight loss.

Espanyol enter this match having earned 17 points from their ten home matches. The vast majority of their successes have come at home this season, so they won't be overawed at all by Sevilla here.

Generally speaking, Espanyol would not be favored to overcome Sevilla. But this season is a lot different.

Sevilla are having big problems right now, Espanyol are playing fairly well and playing at home at this match.

With all of those factors merging together, it would not be a big surprise to see Espanyol win in this one.
